Wowio is a free book download service.
There are half a dozen knitting books available for free download.
You must register, free, to download.
Wowio is only for those who live in the United States and you must use the email address from your internet providor, not a free address.
You will have to fill out a short questionaire. A lot of the questions do not have required next to them and I did not answer those.
I signed up using my email address. There is a place where it asks for a credit card number. Do not give it to them. It is not needed. Only give the barest amount of information.
You can opt out of getting email ads.
There is an ad included with the book.
The registration confirmation will probably go to your spam box.
I have downloaded my first three books today. With a high speed connection it took less than 5 minutes to get all 3.
I got "It's My Party and I'll Knit If I Want To", "Knits, Knots, Buttons and Bows", and "Knitting Beyond the Basics".
The downloaded books are very readable and clear.
