Knit Meter

I am going to try to keep track of my 2012 knitting. That means keeping track of yardage and projects. I am going to try to post to the blogs more.

For what it is worth, Frozen Shoulder Syndrome is not fun. Heading into year three with it and I think it is finally getting better.

Looking forward to lots of knitting in 2012! Happy New Year's Eve!

Dishcloth Hangups For 2009 Submission

Here it is! My submission for the Dishcloth Hangups For 2009.
It is hard to tell from the picture but there are two stitch patterns involved. One cloth in each pattern in each color.
The towels are knit from the top down and the toppers can be used with any pattern. There are two styles of toppers.
I am quite pleased with the way they turned out.
I enlisted my lilac bush as a photo prop.

Here Comes the Bride

My step-daughter, Theresa got married Saturday. Isn't she a beautiful bride?

Her new family includes her husband Ryan and his daughter Cherokee.

This is my absolute favorite picture so far from the wedding. My husband, Drew, dancing with his little princess.

Queen Anne's Lace Finis

The Queen Anne's Lace Chair Doily AKA afghan for Theresa and Ryan is finished! The wedding is Saturday but I will give it to them this evening when they come for supper.

I am really pleased with the way it turned out. With acrylic you never know. They have a child and many pets and wash at the laundromat so acrylic was the only choice.

The pattern for the shawl is free on Mmario's group.

Here is a closer look at the pattern. I did the pattern as written but there is an extended version that I will try for my next one which is already on the needles.

I did not block it at all. this is straight out of the dryer. They live in Arizona so it will probably get it's best use as a chair doily.
I absolutely loved knitting it. Round patterns are my favorite!
Thanks to Ariel for reminding me to add that I used size 10 US needles and Lion Brand acrylic yarn.

Guess. . .

. . . what I am knitting?

Yep. Queen Anne's Lace by Leo Pola, also known as MMario. The pattern is free at his yahoo group. There is a stunning picture of QAL on the home page of his group right now.

This pattern is a tiny bit wider and shorter than my usual patterns.

Get A Clue, Free

This free pattern may remind the younger set of a popular television series. That is how the pattern got it's name. A youngster saw it and said they found a clue. Sample knit by Jami.

Flower Power, Free

I hope you enjoy the free pattern for Flower Power. I used to ride the schoolbus to school with a girl that every day, even in winter, would bring the bus driver a flower. Every day, as she handed him the flower, she would say Flower Power. I don't remember anything else about her, not even her name, but she was the inspiration for this pattern.

The free pattern for Flower Power is at:
